Arlo Enthroned

Arlo Enthroned
June 10th, 2001 - Arlo Guthrie was crowned King of Brooklyn as part of theWelcome Back to Brooklyn: On the Waterfront celebration. As you can see, Arlo took right to the whole throne thing, but apparently not so much the crown as it's missing in this pic.

The King and His Court

The King and His Court
Arlo is not a total stranger to courts, but this one appears friendly.

Arlo and Grandma

I meant to post this one yesterday, on my mother's birthday. A day late as usual. It's my mother and Arlo at Ocean City. Mom might not be able to do anymore roadtrips, but you never know. She had a lot of fun on this one, anyway.

Dennis and Arlo

The photo that launched the Bus Driver Groupie movement and a hundred shirts. This was on one of the calendars. We had Arlo and Dennis both sign it at Keswick. Sherry got shirts done and brought them to Carnegie to distribute. When Judy and Deb Smith showed up wearing theirs after the show, Arlo asked where they got them. Judy helpfully explained, "Sherry's selling them out of the back of her car."

He didn't seem to mind, though.

Welcome to the GroupW Photoblog Movement...

....or whatever we decide to call it down the line. This is a place where anyone who wants to post pictures of Arlo Guthrie, themselves, family, pets who like Arlo or whatever you think fits in here is welcome to do so.

There are a few things you have to do first, though. Anyone can post comments, but to create initial posts and post photos there's a little more to do. For one, you have to join this blog. To request membership you just have to post here or make a request at the Group W Forums at Arlo.net. There are a few different people who can send you an invitation to join.

But wait, there's more. Blogger doesn't host the photos. You need a place to do that. There are any number of places and ways to do that. Three image hosts that offer free accounts are listed on the links to the right. Flickr is one of the easiest ways to do it, because once you get set up, you can post your photo directly from Flickr, complete with text.

One important request is that you make the photo that you post no larger than about 400 or so pixels wide, so as not to create too wide a screen for those who are browsing with lower resolution screens settings. Most of the sites that specialize in hosting photos create several sizes for you and will automatically generate the code to click on the smaller photo to view the larger one.

OK, I guess that's it. Please joins us and share your memories, or if you don't have any of those, just make stuff up.
